Be Safe on the Ice of Conesus Lake

image002What should you do if you fall through the ice? First, try not to panic. This may be easier said than done, unless you have worked out a survival plan in advance. Click this link, Ice Safety Document , to learn about how you can be prepared.

2011 Holiday Lights Winners announced

The Conesus Lake Association is pleased to announce the following winners of the Annual Holiday Lights competition:

1st Place ($100 Gift Certificate to the North Shore Grill) goes to MaryLee Cisco of 5679 East Lake Road in Conesus.

2nd Place ($75 Gift Certificate to Ember) goes to Carol Polizioni of 5611 West Lake Road.

3rd Place ($50 Gift Certificate to Fratelli's) goes to Susan Crombach of 3647 Pebble Beach Road.

All three are members, and were honored to have been selected.  They see our Association as doing only good things for the lake.  We made three new friends and hope they will spread the word to their family and friends to decorate for next year. The festive spirit of the season seemed to abound despite having no snow.

It’s the 75th anniversary of our annual directory—and the 80th anniversary of the CLA itself. So to make this directory better than ever, we’re planning to include a section of “historical” photos and perhaps use one of them as the cover!

CLA Letter to DEC
On November 21, 2011, the Conesus Lake Association sent our comments to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation regarding the draft Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement (dSGEIS) on horizontal drilling and high-volume hydraulic fracturing (hydrofracking) as a method of gas extraction from the Marcellus Shale.  The letter reviews our adopted position (March 2011), and our concern about moving forward with permitting prior to the completion of Federal and State research into the implications of hydrofracking on critical water and related land resource issues.  Until the completion of these Government studies, the CLA believes that the current New York State moratorium on hydrofracking should be extended; and no drilling permits issued.  Please contact the CLA at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
